About Me
Just like you, I’m on a journey. Just like you, I have many roles and titles, and even more life experiences. I hope you’ll relate to parts of my story. And I hope that you have no concept of other parts. During the coming year, I plan to show up here every day and write. That’s scary for me. I struggle with consistency, so a daily practice of writing feels a little daunting. I also don’t publish most of what I write. The combination of these two realities, means you will likely read some raw and messy pieces. Unpolished. Half baked. But, I’m committed to the challenge nonetheless.
So who am I? Just an ordinary girl with hopes and dreams. A fifty-something trying to do her best in life. Enough experience to reflect and learn, but not enough to yet quench my curiosity and desire for adventurous living.
I am a wife, a mother, and a friend. I am a creator, an educator, a founder, and a starter of sorts. I am educated and trained as a dietitian with a primary focus on public health. I am an amateur photographer and a lover of the great outdoors. I am a survivor of childhood trauma and abuse. I am a bereaved mother and a “retired” homeschool mom. But most importantly, I am a beloved child of God, loved beyond measure.
He is still writing my story. I’ve lived way too many hard chapters. But, in the midst of each one, He’s shown His presence, love, and faithfulness. I’m certain the best is still ahead.
I will share parts of my story through the keyboard. Others aren’t ready to be shared. But, I’m committed to showing up each day to write about faith and life in real and authentic ways. The highs and the lows. The hopes and the fears. The successes and the failures. My goal is for you to be encouraged. Maybe even inspired. Mostly, I hope you’ll come to know how much you’re loved and how much your story matters.
I’m so glad you’re here.
