Living a great story may sound like pressure. Do the right things. Seek adventure. Make good choices that yield positive outcomes.  Curate the perfect life.

That’s not at all what this new writing project is about.

I’ve had a challenging year in many ways, but as I’ve reflected, I’ve had some great things happening, too. Lots of them. So, I’ve been thinking about what makes a great life.

Is it ease, comfort, and freedom from hard things? No.

Is it perfect relationships? Nope.

Is it grand trips and travel filled with luxurious pleasures?  No, not that either.

Instead, I think it’s stepping into our calling and finding meaning and purpose in everyday life. It’s finding moments of joy even in chaos. It’s knowing the source of peace and hanging on so tightly to Him that we don’t lose hope.

I want to explore this throughout the coming year. Deeply.  And, so I plan to show up here each day to write about it. It’s the only way I know how to stay committed and accountable. It feels scary though because I have no idea what it will look like.  My year, that is. Will it be busy? Depressing? Thrilling?  Boring? My guess is it’ll be all those things, much like most of life. But I want to pay attention, examine, reflect, and observe. I want to learn something and being curious is the best way I know how.
