Heidelberg, Germany

This beautiful city has a lengthy and rich history. The first university in Germany was founded here in the 1300s. The city was attacked and destroyed by the French in the late 1600’s. It was spared destruction in WWII and has become a sought after location for inspiration by poets, writers, and artists of various kinds.
