Somewhere

I’ve lost track of days and locations. We’re now on a portion of the Rhine that borders France and Germany. Our option today was a tour in France or a hike in Germany. We chose hiking through the vineyards of Germany followed by a wine tasting. The region was called Kaisersomething and was absolutely stunning. There were seven wineries in the town we visited with a population of 700. Meanwhile wine consumption is on the decline. Also note the photo of the vending machine that dispenses bottles of wine and blocks of cheese.

It was an incredibly windy day but the scenery was breathtaking. Lots of man made terraces for growing grapes, mountains including the Black Forest, villages, and almond trees with blooms that look like flowering cherry trees.

Monica was one of our favorite tour guides (pictured) and we met some folks from Williamsburg.
